Creating your Sankalpa

Here are some questions to help guide you in creating a meaningful sankalpa:

  • What is a positive change or transformation you seek in your life?

  • In which aspect of your life do you feel the need for growth or improvement?

  • What values or virtues do you want to cultivate within yourself?

  • What specific goal or aspiration aligns with your authentic self and purpose?

  • How do you want to contribute positively to your own life and the lives of others?

  • What would you like to nourish and grow in your life? What seeds are you planting in your life? What would allow these to sprout, grow and flourish?

Remember that a sankalpa is a positive and present-tense statement, free from negations. It should resonate deeply with your heart and inspire positive change.

Here are some examples to consider:

  • "I am filled with love, compassion, and understanding in all aspects of my life."

  • "I cultivate inner peace and radiate it to the world around me."

  • "I am strong, resilient, and capable of overcoming challenges with grace."

  • "I embrace change and welcome new opportunities for growth and learning."

  • "I release all fears and doubts, allowing confidence and self-assurance to guide me."

  • "I am present in each moment, savoring the beauty and joy that life offers."

  • I express gratitude for the blessings in my life, fostering a heart of thankfulness."

Write down your sankalpa.

Remember to choose or adapt a sankalpa that resonates deeply with your personal aspirations and feels authentic to you.

You may want to write your sankalpa down on a small piece of paper to place on your altar.

Repeat it with sincerity during your sadhana to reinforce the positive intention and invite transformative energy into your life.

Connect with your sankalpa throughout the day.
